Founders Per Mårs and Hans Victor are joined by NHLers in disrupting the skate tech industry.

Per Mars, a former professional hockey player, was frustrated that standard off-ice training techniques like biking and jogging did not transition well to ice skating. The Marsblade, an inline skating system that closely resembles the stride used on the ice, was created as a result of this.

To imitate the imbalance and movement produced by a hockey blade, Marsblade uses Flow Motion Technology, which sandwiched the rounded shape of a hockey blade between the shoe and the wheels. The performance and comfort of ice skating and inline skating are enhanced by the natural and gentle movement pattern made possible by this.

A number of NHL players, notably Detroit's Niklas Kronwall and the Sedin brothers, have contributed slightly over $1 million to Marsblade. They train using inline skates during the off-season, and an ice skate prototype is now being evaluated.

The longer stride and increased mobility made possible by the Marsblade lead to faster turns and higher speeds. Compared to conventional inline skates, which do not offer the same technique as ice skating, the technology is thought to be a significant advance. For hockey players who wish to enhance their off-ice conditioning and duplicate the experience, Marsblade is an inventive option.
